AI Software for Dentists in India: What US Tools Cost vs What Actually Works Here

Type "AI software for dentist" into Google from India and the results are dominated by American products. They look impressive — and they are, for American practices. But before you request a demo, it is worth understanding three things: what these tools actually do, what they cost once you convert to rupees, and whether they fit how Indian patients actually behave.
What the US tools charge (listed pricing, August 2026)
| Tool | What it is | Listed price | In rupees / month* |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dentina AI | AI phone receptionist for dental practices | $499–$1,499/month | ₹42,000–₹1,25,000 |
| TensorLinks | AI dental receptionist, books into your PMS | $399/month + $199 setup | ₹33,500 + setup |
| Denti.AI | AI charting, voice perio & scribe (clinical documentation) | Pricing on request | — |
| Market range (US) | AI receptionist alone | $299–$1,500/month | ₹25,000–₹1,26,000 |
*Approximate conversion at ₹84/$; prices are the vendors' publicly listed figures as of August 2026 — always verify current pricing on their sites.
Read that table carefully. The $499/month tier — roughly ₹42,000 a month — buys an AI that answers your phone. Not follow-ups. Not recalls. Not reactivation of lapsed patients. Not reviews. One job.
Why the US price is the US price
This is not a scam — it is a different market. A single new patient in the US is worth $600–$1,200 to a practice, so a $499 tool pays for itself with one saved caller a month. The tools are also built around what US practices need: deep integrations with Dentrix, Eaglesoft and Open Dental, US phone-call culture, and English-only conversations.
Why that shape doesn't fit an Indian clinic
- Indian patients live on WhatsApp, not phone calls. The enquiry that decides your month arrives as a WhatsApp message at 9 PM. A US phone-answering AI never sees it.
- Language. Your patients write in Hindi, Marathi, Hinglish — sometimes all three in one conversation. US tools converse in English.
- The leak is bigger than the phone. In every Indian clinic we have audited, unanswered enquiries are only the first leak. The bigger ones are quotes that were never followed up, recalls that never went out, and patients who quietly stopped coming. A receptionist-only tool — at any price — touches none of those.
- Dollar pricing compounds. ₹42,000/month is more than many clinics' front-desk salary — for one-fifth of the job.
What to actually compare
Whatever you evaluate — US tool, Indian tool, or hiring another front-desk person — ask the same five questions:
- Does it answer WhatsApp instantly, in the patient's own language — or only the phone?
- Does it follow up on treatment plans and quotes until the patient decides?
- Does it run recalls and reactivation automatically, or is that still a register nobody opens?
- Does it grow your Google reviews and reply to them?
- Can it show you the revenue it recovered — bookings and rupees, attributed — or just call logs?
For context on where AUMY sits in that table: the full platform — 24/7 AI receptionist on WhatsApp and calls, treatment-plan follow-ups, recalls, reactivation, after-treatment care and Google review growth, with every recovered rupee attributed — is ₹20,000 per month, everything included. That is less than half the entry price of a US phone-only tool, for the whole patient journey: Convert, Care, Retain, Reactivate, Grow.
Wondering about Indian point tools instead — separate WhatsApp platform, voice agent and review tool? The stitched-stack comparison is here.
